Issued By: The National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) at 7:00 pm this evening, on Tuesday 24th, April 2018.
Following the Heavy Rain warning Number Four issued at 7:00 PM this evening by the Solomon Islands Meteorological service (SIMS); the NEOC issued this Heavy Rain and Flooding What to Do Information and is currently in force for all provinces except for Temotu.
Heavy rain will likely to cause flooding to creeks, streams, major rivers and drainages. People living in or close to these areas are strongly advised to seriously take the following safety action:

FOR PEOPLE IN LOW LYING AREAS UNDER THE THREAT OF FLOODING
FOR MOTORISTS
FOR BOATS AND SHIPPING
CAUTION
Heavy rain can cause flash flood, river flood or low lying areas and coastal flooding. Prolong heavy rain can cause landslide and mudslides. Heavy rain can also create very low visibility and if it goes with strong winds then it can also cause rough seas. People are advised to take care.

This heavy rain and flooding what to do information is current until a cancellation of the Heavy Rain warning is issued by the SI Meteorological Services.
