iv. Overall aim and objectives of the Lessons Learnt Workshop

・The overall aim of this workshop is to capture lessons from the 9th December, 2016 Makira Earthquake/Tsunami that contributes towards better preparedness and effective response in future disasters.

Specific objectives include:

 To recognize the key achievements and challenges from this response operation o To generate recommendations to strengthen the current systems and response mechanism at all levels

 To strengthen existing partnerships between SIG, NGO’s, Donors, INGOs, UN Agencies and the Private Sector at Provincial and National Levels 

To review the performance of and identify improvements for the interim structures of the NDC, N-DOC and Committees and the NEOC adopted from the draft N-DM Plan 2017 on 6 December 2016 for the 2016/17 cyclone season.
