Following the 9th December 2016 earthquake, The National Disaster Management Office had completed a one day lessons learnt workshop yesterday at the Honiara Hotel in Honiara.
This internal lessons learned workshop, was organised ahead of the stakeholder wide lessons learned workshop which will be held on the 3rd of March this year. Speaking during the workshop, Chief Operation Officer Mr. George Baragami said, the outcome of the workshop will be fed into the stakeholder wide workshop on the 3rd of March.
The Aim of this lessons learned workshop is to document what went well and what needs improvement, and how the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) could have done better for the purpose of further strengthening and improving the NEOC arrangements.
The NDMO staffs had worked very hard in compiling the identified issues and find ways to further improve our arrangements.
